The Beijing Metals Society held a meeting in Beijing to evaluate the results of the “Technology Development and Industrialization of High Performance Iron-Chromium Aluminum Alloy”, which was completed by Beijing Shougang Gitane New Materials Co.
The evaluation meeting was chaired by Qiu Dongying, Executive Deputy Secretary General of BMI, and seven experts from CMI, Shougang Group, General Iron and Steel Research Institute, University of Science and Technology Beijing, Liaoning University of Science and Technology, and Beijing Beimei Functional Materials Co.
At the evaluation meeting, Li Gang, the chairman and general manager of Gitane, the company that completed the results, gave a welcome speech first, recalling the development history of Gitane of “hard work and self-improvement”, in the research and development of electrothermal alloy and precision alloy materials, based on the principle of “unswerving determination”. In the research and development of electrothermal alloy and precision alloy materials, with the principle of “unswerving determination”, the company has broken through foreign technical barriers, insisted on the road of independent innovation, and made great efforts and continuous efforts in the problem of necking to finally achieve import substitution, thus driving the development of downstream industries.
Tao Ke, deputy general manager of the company and the project leader, made a comprehensive report on behalf of the project team on the project background, R&D process, theoretical basis of R&D, key technical problems, innovation points, application of results and industrialization. The experts carefully reviewed all the evaluation documents and after questioning, Q&A and discussion, the evaluation committee unanimously agreed that the project’s achievements were generally up to international advanced level.
The project has developed three grades of iron-chromium aluminium alloys, 0Cr21Al6Nb (with cobalt), HRE and SGHYZ, which can be used at temperatures up to 1300°C, 1350°C and 1400°C. Filled the gap of electric heating alloy materials above 1350℃ in China. Developed the equipment and process for controlling the solidification organization of iron-chromium-aluminium alloy by electroslag remelting, the technology for improving Y yield and inclusions control by double electroslag, and the complete set of process technology for controlling solidification and preventing stress cracks after solidification of 85kg ingot type high-performance iron-chromium-aluminium alloy, which reduced the average size of inclusions from 3-4μm to 1-2μm and eliminated the solidification organization defects. Developed roll die drawing equipment and special drawing die hole type for Fe-Cr-Al alloy, vacuum plasma acid-free descaling technology, and strong alkaline electrolytic water-based cleaning drawing lubricating fluid to achieve green processing throughout the process. Eliminated cracking defects in the cold processing process and significantly increased the material formation rate. Four invention patents and 10 utility model patents have been generated, and the products developed have replaced advanced foreign materials and have been applied by customers such as Fuyao Group (Fujian) Machinery Manufacturing Company, North Huachuang Microelectronics Equipment Company Limited and Hunan Huitong New Materials Co. It has generated more than 70 million yuan/year for the enterprise, with significant social and environmental benefits.
After the meeting, experts from the evaluation committee visited Gitane’s production line.
