On March 25, Shougang Technology and Management Innovation Conference was held to deeply study and understand General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important discourse on innovation and development and the spirit of the Sixth Plenary Session of the 19th CPC Central Committee, systematically summarize the Group’s innovation work in 2021, fully promote science and technology innovation and management innovation, and provide strong impetus and support to complete the target tasks set by the Group’s “two meetings” and lay a solid foundation for Shougang’s high-quality development.

Mr. Zhang Gongyan, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Group, presented an award to the first Shougang Scientists, while Mr. Zhao Minge, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and General Manager of the Group, delivered a speech.
On behalf of the Group’s Party Committee and the Group, Zhao Minge firstly expressed his warm congratulations to the commended individuals and teams, and expressed his heartfelt thanks to all of them for their hard work in promoting the development of Shougang.

Zhao Minge pointed out that the selection of Shougang scientists is another major initiative taken in the construction of the talent team after the selection of Shougang craftsmen, which is an important symbol to open up the growth channel of Shougang’s scientific and technological talents and highlights the distinctive orientation of the Group’s Party Committee to attach importance to science and technology and cherish talents. 13 inaugural Shougang scientists are from the main battlefield of Shougang’s scientific and technological innovation and are outstanding representatives of Shougang’s scientific and technological personnel. The majority of cadres and workers should take the Shougang scientists as role models, base on their work positions, continue to forge ahead and contribute their wisdom and strength to the reform and development of Shougang.

Zhao Minge stressed the need to earnestly study and implement the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important speech, thoroughly implement the work requirements of the state and Beijing, and further promote Shougang’s innovation work.

First, we should have a deep understanding of the new situation and new tasks facing the reform and development of Shougang, strengthen the leadership of party building, and enhance the sense of responsibility and urgency in promoting innovation work. We should accurately grasp the changing situation, closely combine with the actual situation of Shougang, deeply implement the innovation-driven strategy, further enhance the sense of responsibility and urgency of reform and innovation, and make full use of scientific and technological innovation and management innovation. We should make continuous efforts in process innovation, focus on efficient manufacturing, intelligent manufacturing and green manufacturing, increase process technology research, break through a number of core technologies and solve a number of bottleneck problems. The non-steel industry should adhere to the focus on the main industry, increase the core technology research and improve market competitiveness. We should continue to make efforts to improve the scientific and technological innovation system, insist on building a “strong support, open sharing, synergistic and efficient” research and development system, promote the gathering of innovation resources, drive innovation capacity, play the role of “one hospital and many centres”, play the role of various joint research and development We should play the role of “one institute and many centres”, play the role of various joint R&D platforms, and insist on integrating into the national innovation system.

Third, we should closely integrate with the actual situation and promote management innovation in depth. Zhao Minge stressed that innovation is the first driving force to lead development.
